Equally Engaged in K15B, Suzuki Jimny's Power is Smaller than Ertiga

Suzuki finally released its legendary SUV Jimny at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) exhibition in 2019. Similar to other countries, the Jimny sold in Indonesia carries the exact same engine as the Ertiga's K15B. Even so, both machines have been adapted to their individual needs.

This means that even though carrying the same machine both have different powers. Quoting the official page of Suzuki Indomobil Sales, the power produced by Jimny is smaller than Ertiga.

Ertiga K15B DOHC VVT engine can produce power equivalent to 104.7 PS at 6,000 rpm, also torque of 138 Nm at 4,400 rpm.

While the written Jimny carrying the K15B engine has the equivalent power of 102 PS at 6,000 rpm and maximum torque of 130 Nm at 4,000 rpm.

This K15B engine is indeed newly developed. This K15B engine from Suzuki is claimed to provide good fuel efficiency and greater power and torque than the K14B engine. For information, the K14B engine was previously attached to the Ertiga hood.

Suzuki said, thanks to the Suzuki K15B engine, noise and vibration while driving a car is reduced so that passengers in the car are more comfortable and calm. Radiators also efficiently provide higher output and better AC performance.

In their home country, there are indeed two engine options offered on Jimny, namely 660cc and 1,500cc. But the 660cc engine version is only offered for Japanese citizens. As for the Jimny sold abroad, Suzuki decided to use the 1,500cc engine.
